Thursday 3rd to Saturday 5th October 2019

This year’s Éigse will commemorate the 20th anniversary of Michael’s untimely passing in October 1999.

It promises to be a very special festival with a plethora of Ireland’s best poets including many friends of Michael along with several younger poets. Confirmed to date are Theo Dorgan, Paula Meehan, Nuala Ní Dhomnaill, James Harpur, Paddy Bushe, Gabriel Fitzmaurice, Eileen Sheehan, Maighread Medbh, Doireann Ní Gríofa and Jo Slade, Edward O’Dwyer with more to follow.

The range of events will include readings, the screening of the Michael Hartnett documentary A Necklace of Wrens, traditional and classical music, art exhibitions, storytelling, etc.
